THREE ELECTRONIC MUSIC ARTISTS DREW MCDOWALL, PUCE MARY AND KALI MALONE TO HELSINKI
Experimental electronic music pioneer Drew McDowall returns to Finland. McDowall will perform the legendary Coil’s album ”Time Machines” in Ääniwalli, Helsinki on 13th of May. Ticket sale starts in Tiketti on Thrusday 5th of March at 9AM.
McDowall is a Scottish-born musician and composer who first collaborated with Coil and was then an official member of the band alongside it’s members John Balance and Peter Christopherson. The album ”Time Machines” is divided into four sections, which are each named after psychedelic drugs. The band wanted to achieve the same kind of effect with their music as the drug would.
Electronic musicians Puce Mary and Kali Malone will also perform on the same night in Ääniwalli. Copenhagen-based Puce Mary (Frederikke Hoffmeier) combines noise and experimental music in her production, and she has toured around Europe, Japan and North America. Puce Mary has released music through labels like Posh Isolation and iDeal Records.
Kali Malone is a Stockholm-based, american musician. Her music is described as minimalistic and dark, and it combines both acoustic and electronic music. The artist uses multiple instruments, and her third album ”The Sacrificial Code”, which was released last year, is built around organ music.
