The live show of Honningbarna is hailed to be one of the most killing in Norway. Or as a reviewer from their performance at the nordic music business summit by:Larm last year put it:
”If you were there and you didn’t like it, you might as well stay home on concert nights. There exists no better live injection of musical bliss than the one Honningbarna supplies.”
Musically they kick hard. The songs are have the flare of revolution frenzy, and makes Rage Against the Machine, Gallows and The Hives come to mind. No wonder perhaps, that swedish star producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt, also collaborator with The Hives for many years, is overseeing the birth of Honningbarnas second album, which will be released in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, UK and Ireland this year.
And it’s all been happening quickly. Just three months after releasing their first EP, they won the norwegian broadcasting’s annual unsigned band competition „Årets Urørt.“ Same year they released their debut album „La Alarmane Gå“ („sound the alarm“) which won Spellemannsprisen (the equivalient of the Grammys) for best rock album, and also got nominated as best newcomer.
Honningbarna want more than just make music. They also have an agenda, and have already managed to get a large portion of the norwegian bible-belt to sing along to their infamous battlecry-anthem „Fri Palestina“ („Free Palestine“). Their aim is world domination, without gimmicks or vanities, but with pure energy and love for music amidst their fans.
